It was Spectrum Rover that kick off the match. Due to the heavy downpour. Both team are having difficulties to adjust to the sudden change of weather and to adapt to the waterlogged pitch.
It was a poor first half with no side really tested both the keepers.
Spectrum Rover almost snatch the lead when their right winger ran down the flank after a superb through pass by his team mate, before hitting a dangerous cross into the box and Spectrum striker jump high to meet it with a power header towards goal. Davis was there to tip the ball over the bar. He certainly don't mean it as he wanted to take it down to his chest.
Half time ended with Spectrum looking likely to make things happen in the 2nd half.
Chinatown FC started the second half slowly. It was not much later that Chinatown FC steal the lead. Monkey scoring his first ever league goal for CFC after a goal-mouth melee involving Hee, Monkey and Didi. Taking the ball first time, Monkey turn and hit a low shot beyond the keeper reach. 1-0 to CFC. Spectrum was certainly shelf-shocked to trail by a goal as they are the better side from start.
Not willing to let the morale down, Spectrum starts to attack with flair down both flanks with Ooi and Herman working hard to stop them. Heng and Bernard certainly forge a great center back pairing in recent weeks. The four defender are enjoying themselves out in the rain.
Spectrum almost equalise when their cross from their left winger was met by his team mate whose header bounce back off the pole. Spectrum's striker was there to smash it home. But Davis was there and the ball went straight to his head and deflected out for a corner. He must have felt lucky to have stopped the goal bound shot.
CFC almost conceded again when opposition left winger manage to get past Herman and unleashes a powerful shot but was straight at Davis who was caught off guard! No doubt he push it out for a corner, he injured his left wrist in the process.
Finally, Chinatown FC runs out of luck. Spectrum had a free kick just outside the penalty box, the referee had push back the wall for the taker. Davis was still busy organising the wall and waiting for the whistle. But the shot came in immediately to the bottom right corner beating him at full stretch. Davis was certainly furious that the whistle was not blown! Spectrum had equalized! 1-1 the score with 15min left!
At about 85th min! Spectrum was caught offside again by the CFC defend! They certainly had at least 10 offside today. Guo Qiang was there to take the free kick. His usual powerful kick upfield was met by Ono who out jump Spectrum's player and lay it to Didi who runs down the right flank before crossing in a low cross for Hee. Compose and cool, with some more works to do, Hee took the ball calmly before faking the keeper the wrong way and drive it to the bottom left corner. 2-1 to CFC! CFC players exploded in joys!
Spectrum restart the match. Davis had shouted for the players to close down once they start the play but no one did. Opposition try a half court shot towards goal. Lucky the shot was too striaght and easy for Davis to take it down, but he was not happy as no one stop them from trying.
Spectrum piles up the pressure on CFC in search of another equalizer. The left winger was set free from a corner and tried to score in an acute angle. It was straight towards goal but Bernard was there to head it out for another corner, fantastic defending by Bernard, he is fantastic today.
Nearing the end of the match. Spectrum was caught offside again! Guo Qiang was there to take the free kick. This time the ball was cross to Guo Hui who was in the middle of the park, making full use of his height advantages. He back header the ball and lay it through for Hee. Taking the ball down calmly and running towards the goal, Hee unleash a unstopable powerful shot straight to the back of the net and smash in the final nail into Spectrum's coffin. There is nothing the keeper could do. 3-1 to CFC. Hee netting a brace!
Full time whistle gone. CFC must be happy with the overall team play.
